VecSnap is built by the VecSnap team, as a product company. Its engine is our own, built and trained in-house, and nothing is resold from another service. The company behind VecSnap is named in our terms of service.
VecSnap is for drawn images: logos, icons, stickers, mascots and flat illustrations, including images made with ChatGPT, Gemini or Midjourney and drawings made in Procreate, ready for print, the web or a cutting machine. It is not made for photos, and it makes no images of its own: it converts the ones you have.
Both trace an image on their own sites, and Vector Magic sells a desktop app too. VecSnap draws your image again as shapes with only the anchor points each needs, shows every point before you pay, and sells images one at a time. Each comparison reads the other tool's own pages, with the date.
VecSnap works best on images with clear shapes and flat colors: logos, icons, badges, stickers and flat illustrations. Detailed illustrations work too. Each kind of file has its converter.

Not as a picture: their image tools work in pixels. VecSnap redraws such a picture as an SVG of shapes.
As few as each edge needs. VecSnap shows the count before you keep a file, beside what potrace leaves for the same image, so you can check it yourself.
Every image VecSnap unlocks comes as a Web file, the lightest SVG, for code, and a Design file, with named layers and real shapes, for Figma and Illustrator. It also comes as a PNG, a PDF and an EPS for screens and print. When VecSnap can cut the drawing into pieces, it adds a cut-ready SVG and a DXF, and it shows you the cut before you spend a credit.

Yes. VecSnap gives the same image the same file every time, until its engine improves.
One credit unlocks one image for good, with every format, re-run and re-download included. Converting and previewing are free.
Tell VecSnap which result, and the credit comes back. A conversion that fails never costs a credit.
With a VecSnap account, each image stays in your library with its results until you delete it; an upload that never became a result is deleted after 7 days. Nothing you convert is shown to anyone else, and there is no public gallery.
One name for each thing, on every page, in every file and in every email.
Converting is free. You see the whole result before you spend anything.
