Blurry

Why is my PNG blurry?

It was exported smaller than it is shown. A PNG holds a fixed number of pixels, and enlarging it stretches them. Export the SVG at the width you need, and it is drawn again sharp.

If your SVG only holds a picture inside it, no width helps: the picture has the pixels it has. The tool says so when it finds one.

What size should my PNG be?

As wide as it will be shown, in pixels, or twice that for sharp screens. For print, multiply the inches by 300.

Transparency

Does a PNG keep a transparent background?

Yes, when you pick See-through. A PNG stores how see-through each pixel is, so whatever the SVG leaves empty stays empty.

If your PNG comes out on a solid color, the SVG has a background shape of its own. Open it in the SVG viewer to find it.

JPG

How do I convert an SVG to JPG?

Pick JPG above the picture. A JPG has no transparency, so empty areas come out on white or black, whichever you pick.

Use a JPG where a form or a tool refuses a PNG. For a logo, a PNG stays cleaner around its edges.
