Each seller's price, date and page ↓

A vectorizing service draws your logo again as vector shapes and sends back the files a printer asks for: an SVG, an EPS, a PDF or an AI. The six sellers we read list one logo from $5 to $125. By their own pages, three of the six sellers draw every logo by hand, and Upwork says the work starts from an automatic trace. Whoever draws it, zoom into the file and count the anchor points. VecSnap shows you every one before you spend a credit.

What it costs

How much does it cost to vectorize a logo?

The six sellers we read list one logo from $5 to $125, by how complex it is. With VecSnap, converting is free and one credit keeps an image.

Each price is the seller's own, read on its page on the day in its row. The seller's page is the price that counts.

What you get

What files should a vectorizing service send?

An SVG for the web, and an EPS or a PDF for a printer. Ask for each by name: two of the six sellers send no SVG by default, VectorizeNow and Vector Conversions.

An AI file matters only if you work in Illustrator. A PNG or a JPG on its own is no vector file.

By hand or traced

Is a vectorized logo drawn by hand or auto-traced?

By their own pages, three of the six sellers draw every logo by hand, and Upwork says the work starts from an automatic trace. The file shows which: a trace leaves an anchor point at every step of the pixels.

Check the file

How do I check the vector file I get back?

Turn on Outline view and zoom in: a letter's straight side should be one line between two anchor points. Then open the SVG as text: an image tag means pixels inside.

A printer may refuse a file with thousands of anchor points, even when it is a real vector.

  1. Outline view: Command or Ctrl and Y in Illustrator; in Inkscape, View, Display mode, Outline.
  2. Zoom to 400 %: a vector edge stays smooth, and pixels turn to squares.
  3. Count the anchor points on one letter: an H needs twelve, and dozens mean a trace.
  4. Open the SVG in a text editor: path and circle are shapes, and image is a picture inside.

Which to choose

When should a person vectorize your logo?

When the logo has to be rebuilt: a sketch, a photo of a sign, missing parts, a font nobody can name. A flat logo in a PNG or a JPG can be drawn again from the file you have.
  • A personThe logo needs rebuilding
    • A sketch, a photo or a blurry scan
    • Parts missing, a font to find
    • Changes to the design itself
  • VecSnapThe logo is flat and clear
    • A PNG, a JPG or a WebP of a drawn logo
    • Every anchor point shown before you pay
    • The SVG, a PDF, an EPS and PNGs for one credit

    • Outline view and a close zoom
    • An SVG, plus an EPS or a PDF for print

Try it first

Can I vectorize my logo myself?

Yes. Drop it here: VecSnap draws it again as shapes, and you zoom into the result before you spend anything.

Drop your logo. Get its SVG.

  1. Drop your logo, a PNG or a JPG.
  2. Zoom in and turn on the anchor points.
  3. Keep it with one credit: the SVG, a PDF, an EPS and PNGs.
